Los Arcos represent one gorgeous decorative and large structural piece of art. These four stone arches have become as well one of the most iconic and recognizable landmarks of Puerto Vallarta. Los Arcos are located in the southern part of the boardwalk (Malecon).
Los Arcos refers to the row of arches in the oceanfront square right across the City Hall building, They were originally brought from a colonial hacienda in Guadalajara but they were destroyed by hurricane Kenna in 2002. The arches that are currently displayed, are replicas created by sculptor Martin Distancia and Associates Manuel Palos and Martin Yepez, although its original position has changed a few meters due to the renovations that were made in the Malecon

The beautiful seaside arches currently serving as a backdrop to the Open Air Theatre well known as Los Arcos Amphitheater or Aquiles Serdan Theater which is used for Free cultural performances and festivals on the Malecon where entertainment and many outdoor attractions occur as well, such as the Xiutla folkloric dancers, live music and the ever popular clown shows in the evening.
