Vallarta Shines as One of Mexico’s Safest Cities

Puerto Vallarta has once again solidified its reputation as a safe and welcoming destination. The city has been ranked as the safest city in Jalisco and the fifth safest city in all of Mexico, according to the latest National Urban Public Security Survey (ENSU).
The survey, conducted by the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI), measures public perceptions of safety in Mexican cities. In Puerto Vallarta, only 21.3% of residents reported feeling unsafe, a significant improvement from previous quarters. This positive trend demonstrates the city’s commitment to creating a secure environment for both locals and visitors.
Compared to other cities in Jalisco, Puerto Vallarta’s safety ratings are notably higher. In Guadalajara, Tlaquepaque, and Tlajomulco, a significantly larger percentage of residents reported feeling unsafe.
Nationally, Puerto Vallarta stands out as one of the safest cities in Mexico, alongside San Pedro Garza García and Benito Juárez. The city’s ongoing efforts to create a secure environment have clearly paid off, solidifying its position as a top travel destination.
